He made these remarks when he joined the Liberated Souls Ministry at Teshie-Tsuibleoo to celebrate their annual Kente Week in Accra.

He also advised citizens to patronise made in Ghana goods and don made in Ghana clothing to enhance productivity in the country.

The wearing of Kente to the church began in 2003 and it has subsequently been replicated in various branches of the church across the country.

The founder of the church Apostle Charles Oduro Marfo, who introduced the traditional week, encouraged members to put on traditional attires and outfits.

He said the initiative is to promote tradition, made-in-Ghana products and demystify the myths surrounding of everything African clothing.

An elder of the church Elder Bismark Sabla explained that the initiative was borne out of the love of Ghana's rich traditional values, culture and the need to promote it.

“Ghana has a very rich culture and we must disabuse people’s mind that everything Ghana is fetish and encourage people to accept our traditional values”, he said.

Elder Sabla challenged Ghanaians to accept traditional values that will improve the development of our society.

The General overseer and founder of the church, Apostle Oduro Marfo noted that it was about time Ghanaians reconnected with their traditions and values.

He maintained that being traditional and observing the values of your heritage does not make you a non-Christian.

“Our rich culture and tradition, the way we dress and what we wear are unique to us and must be adhered to”, he said.

He called on all Ghanaians to endeavour to wear made-in Ghana attire and patronise made-in-Ghana clothing.
