Tops can be formal, casual or relaxed in style

Choosing tops, blouses for plus sized lady

The fundamental thing you need to bear in mind when it comes to styling is to remember that it is possible to style yourself as a plus sized lady.

A careful look at what clothing resources are available to you will help you make wise selection of clothing that will actually flatter your figure!

The first step to looking good in your clothes begins from what you wear under your clothes. You need to wear a good pair of brassiere to provide support for your breasts if you are busty.

You need to understand that it is okay to have a large bust if you are plus sized and that a lot of plus sized women do have large bust. The key lies in buying the right bra for your bust.

There are a lot of shops within Accra where you can walk in to have your bra size measured out for you. That way you have a good idea of your exact bra size.

You could equally decide to wear a girdle to prevent your body from giggling under your clothes or a body shaper to provide your body with a smooth look and definition.

All these are optional and in most cases may not be necessary for you to wear. However, if you feel comfortable in wearing them of course that choice should be entirely yours.

Today we look at tops and blouses for the plus sized woman. You need to identify what body shape category you fall into and to use this information to choose your tops accordingly.

This is because not every top or blouse will go with your particular body frame and shape.

If you have a short neck for your plus sized frame, then a V-neck lined top will work well for you. This style will elongate both your face and neck creating a slimmer outlook for you.

Crucial to styling your plus sized frame is the need to avoid baggy clothes. They don’t hide your weight but rather you end up looking more bulky than you really are.

A style secret is always to clinch in your waist using a belt, gathers at the waist of your top or creating a peplum look for your shape.

This creates a longer look for you and breaks up your large frame into two. Moreover it will emphasize your waist!

So get creative with colours, gone are the days when plus size ladies were restricted to just dark colours! Mix and match colours.

Please I’m not preaching a colour riot out there!!! Just try your hands on a few combinations and see how it pans out. When unsure seek assistance from a consultant!

Stay blessed and remain beautiful inside out!
