The festival, which will be an annual event, aims to promote the use of eco-friendly energy to power equipment during festivals, concerts, workshops, seminars, film shows and other related events.

A master of 14 instruments including the mbira, seperewa and kora, Moses mounted the stage at the Addison’s Square Garden and immediately went into his own world as he dished out a thrilling blend of Afrobeat, reggae, funk, jazz and Ghanaian traditional compositions.

Joined by African Footprint Legends (Denmark /Ghana), Total Hip Replacement, Junglelyd (Denmark) and the all-female Women of Colour Band from Ghana, Moses exhibited extreme showmanship as energetic music flowed from the stage.

With refreshing tunes from his seperewa, Moses uplifted and inspired the audience with lyrics laced with humour and social commentary.

Total Hip Replacement, a youthful funk/reggae band, took the stage by storm with dynamic sounds that engaged the crowd.

The Women of Colour Band, led by singer Della Hayes, drowned the stage with cross-rhythms that resulted in cheers from the enthusiastic crowd.

The Junglelyd band, which included Ghanaian drummer Siisi France, mesmerised the audience with their multi-flavoured tunes which included rhythms from northern Ghana.

All the participating groups had earlier performed on the Music Music programme at the Piano Bar and +233 Jazz Bar and Grill, all in Accra.

Afro Moses will feature again at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill on Saturday, April 2. He will play alongside flutist Della Botri and his Hewale Sounds.
