Smock frocks are in vogue

In Ghana when you mention smock, the first thing that comes to mind is the ‘fugu’ (northern smock). Fugu is the most distinctive dress from northern Ghana which has gained national significance. People wear them for both formal and informal events.

In contemporary fashion, smock dresses or frocks are in vogue. The style often looks very simple but classy. You can either have them as maxi, midi or short dresses.

There is nothing easier than a throw-on-and-go dress. If you love dresses that are easy to wear and fit for all occasions then your best bet is a dress smock.

The current type of smock frocks come in mostly cotton fabrics. They also come in brighter colours.

You remember last week we said brighter colours were trending now. Therefore, you go in for colours such as green, orange, blue pink, yellow, red purple among others.

Some smock dresses also come in floral patterns, pinstriped and checkered fabrics. The good news is that you can even use batik, wax print or the dye fabrics to get your tailor to design a smock frock for you.

There are ready-made smock dresses for baby girls that you can also go in for your child.

It is the era of smock frocks, get shoes and a colour bag to make your own combination.
