Do you have a walk buddy?

Much as it is as good as medicine, exercise is not easy to do for many people. There are just a few people to whom exercise is an easy task. Such people cannot go through a day without it. Take the opportunity to exercise from them and it is just like you have taken their life from them.

The question is how did such people get to that stage? How are they able to get to the point that exercise just can best be described as their lifestyle? The fact is that they started small and allowed the habit to grow to their current level. You can also do same.
Make a decision to exercise, then get started. Most of the time, having someone to exercise with can be a major boost. So get an exercise buddy.

Your exercise buddy can be your spouse. As people grow together in marriage; bearing children and all can make them bigger and fatter. Men who enjoy their wives’ food so much easily become obese and develop pot bellies. Working on weight issues together as a couple can be a great way to achieve results by motivating each other.

Friends can be good exercise buddies as well by going for walks with you. This way, you get some motivation along the way so you can do much and even get up and go for walks if laziness sets in. Two people can go farther than one when they walk together. Some people also take their walks alone but they have friends on phone who motivate them all the way through.

You can even form a mini walking club at the workplace. Colleagues who are like minded and want to exercise can decide to do so together after office hours. You can just take walks together around the office location. Do this regularly. It might not even be a brisk walk since you are most likely to be tired after work but the results can be massive over time. Get some walk buddies at the work place and you will not regret it at all.

Belonging to clubs like keep fit clubs or gym clubs is a great way of getting exercise buddies that motivate you on a regular basis. Do join one if you can; just do not make these clubs into food and drink groups that make so much food and drinks available after exercise sessions.
Pets like dogs can also be excellent exercise buddies. You walk with them. They offer you the necessary security to a large extend while you get the benefit of good health from that walk with them. Walking your dog actually gives good health to them too.

These days, we see a lot of obese children and children with diabetes (type 2), hypertension and high blood cholesterol; most of whom are obese. What this tells us is that there is the need for us to allow these children also enjoy some level of physical activity. The indoor life is not helping matters. That is why it will be a great idea to make your young children your walk buddies. Take them along for a walk; and do this on a regular basis.
