Launched in Accra last Saturday, (October 8), the poems were from different scales of life, inspired by love, faith and daily experiences of life.

Speaking at the launch in Accra, Ms Gyamfi said apart from celebrating her mother, the title of the book was also a tribute to her favourite poet, William Butler Yeats and his poem; The Second Coming, “And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?”.

She explained that she was intrigued as well as inspired by the talents of the distinguished poet, saying: “I kind of chose a title that references middle name, Butler, and the fact that the beast was going towards Bethlehem to be born,” she explained.

“Anyone that reads the poems will find themselves in one way or the other represented. I just feel like it's just an elixir of life and I'm just glad to showcase it,” she stated.

 Gift for writing

Ms Gyamfi explained that her passion for writing and reading was the reason why she found no difficulty in writing it saying, “I wouldn't say I experience challenges to be honest. I mean, I've always been blessed with the gift for writing.”
