February 3 is dedicated to the blues and will parade Kwaku Opoku, Jen Staves and Kabudi. February 4 is for Abiana, Kwame Yeboah Trio and the GH Jazz Collective. February 5 is reserved for Native Vibes, Andy Narrel and an all-star jam.

Those who enjoyed the steelpan sessions with bands from Trinidad and Tobago at +233 sometime ago can catch more thrills with Andy Narrel when he comes on to showcase his style of jazz played on the steelpan, an instrument that originated from Trinidad and Tobago.

Narell gravitated toward the steelpan at a young age in Queens, New York. He has over the years coaxed fantastic melodies from the instrument and hardly seen on stage at jazz concerts. With an immense interest in Caribbean music, Latin jazz, and rhythm and blues, Narrel has helped to lift the status of the steelpan in Jazz circles across the world.

Kabudi is part of a crop of gifted African musicians who have successfully merged rhythms from their roots with the improvisational traditions of American Jazz and Blues and Caribbean grooves and come up with a striking new music for the world – Kabudi Music.

Native Vibe comprises bassist Nee Sackey and guitarist Bill Macpherson. They have played together since 1995. They gel extremely well whenever they get together to dish out their smooth Jazz fusion. They have performed in Ghana on a number of occasions and have generated fair amount of following here.

Jen Staves has been performing a soulful combination of Blues, Jazz, and Rock for many years. She’s been influenced by a wide variety of popular music and that often reflects in how her voice captures attention anytime she rises to sing.

A member of the +233 management team, Quantos Ackah-Yensu, said they were looking forward to three nights of great music. He was confident patrons would be well-entertained by the extravaganza.
