Young enterprising athlete, Isaac Martei says he is focused on competing professionally when he completes senior high school next year.
Martei, who is a Form Two student of the Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC), Teshie, is currently one of the hottest long distance runners at the SHS level.
Talking about his future in the sport, the 20-year-old student noted that he had a bright future but needed to train hard to be able to achieve his aim.
He stressed that winning laurels for Ghana was all that mattered to him and he was hopeful of achieving that feat.
In an interview with the Junior Graphic, Martei stated: “I have always dreamt of competing professionally for my country after SHS.”
“I know I have to train very hard if I have to achieve my aim of winning laurels for Ghana,” he added.
Young Martei currently holds about 10 certificates for participating in competitions such as the inter-house in school and the Greater Accra Inter-Schools and Colleges Athletics Competition (INTERCO).
He came 19th in last year’s Milo Marathon which was organised in Accra.
