Some young people have started having sexual relationships because they know others are engaging in it and think they are at the age that they can do as they please.

All youngsters know that the best thing to do is to abstain from sex because they cannot provide for themselves or a baby should a sexual relationship result in pregnancy.
The decision not to have any kind of sexual relationship with a boy or girl is called abstinence. As teenagers, that is the best option.
There are many good reasons to choose abstinence before marriage.
Why should I abstain?
It helps you to channel your energies into other useful activities such as your education, sports and vocation.
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV will be avoided.
Without STIs, your chances of having children in future is better.
It is the best way to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
Feeling hurt, used, being lonely and angry by having sex when you are not ready is prevented.
The consequences of sexual activity such as unplanned pregnancy can be very stressful for you, your family and friends.
Think carefully, ‘Are you ready to have a baby?’ If not, abstain from sex.
Can I abstain? Sure, you can!
There are lots of other activities you can do with your friends. Try something fun and exciting like the following:
Playing competitive games such as football, basketball, scrabble, swimming, jogging, sight-seeing, going out with friends, etc.
Learn new skills such as reading or writing for the newspapers to earn some pocket money, computing, play musical instruments, etc.
Involve yourself in religious activities of your church or youth group.
Don’t spend all or most of your time on social media platforms because you could be tempted and be exposed to pornographic pictures, videos and movies.
