These schools had  Veronica baskets, soaps, hand sanitisers and tissue papers and students washed their hands thoroughly with soap under running water before entering their classrooms. The class sizes were smaller in the schools as a result of maintaining social distancing.

As part of the precautionary measures, the Kwashieman Anglican Two J.H.S, students are advised not touch metal surfaces and use hand sanitisers frequently.

The school had been fumigated and students have been provided with three veronica buckets, soap, hand sanitisers and tissues. They have also been given face masks .

One of the students of the school, Mavis Asabil, 15, said previously, they were 65 in class but  their teachers had divided them into two groups in order to ensure  social distancing.

The TED- Academy at Dansoman had been fumigated and class size is 14. The school had provided hand sanitisers and face masks to students to help protect them.
Miriam Adu Gymfi, 15,  said her school had been fumigated .

“I use public transport to school so i wear the face mask and hand sanitiser was given to me by my school to protect me”, she added.

At the Dansoman Six Basic School, the class size of 72 had been reduced to enhance social distancing. Those who reported to school on the first day were only 30 so they were grouped into three classes. Students had also been provided with hand sanitisers and face masks.

The Kwashieman One Basic School teachers had divided the students into two groups in a class. Students are supposed to wash their hands thoroughly with soap under running water before entering the class and at the end of each lesson.

In an interview with Bernice Hanson, a student of the school, she said, “my mates and I have been given two face masks and a bottle of hand sanitiser by my school. I wash my hands with soap under running water and I make sure to use my hand sanitiser every 10 minutes”.

Mr Ernest Johnson, the Headmaster of the Osrisco Preparatory School, said students have been given two face masks each and a sanitiser. There is a veronica bucket at the entrance of the school and students are to wash their hands throughly under running water with soap before entering the school compound.
