O’Reilly student wins Internet Study Mate Award

The ISM programme, which is being run in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES), is a dedicated SHS online portal where all students and schools sign on and interact with other students across the country.

This gives students the opportunity to compare notes, share ideas and watch live streaming tutorials on a myriad of subjects. Students could also take tests at any time to ensure they have understood what they have learnt.

Rhodaline competed with other students in an online exam within the ISM student community where the first three winners from each school were selected to take another exam.

A General Arts student, she excelled in the exam, making her the first female in the history of the awards to pick the smart student prize.

She received a year’s scholarship from ISM that would cater for her fees.

Other students of the O’Reilly SHS who participated in the competition also went home with some cash prizes and certificates for their wonderful performance.

They are: Daniel Okyere, who received GH¢200 and a laptop for being the ISM Most Active Student and another GH¢200 for a group of O’Reilly SHS students who won the ISM Best Project Award for their project on photosynthesis.

Rhodaline, who could not hide her joy, lauded the organisers of the programme for recognising her effort and expressed the hope that other students would join the portal and also benefit from it.
