The Most Holy Heart School in Accra has inducted new prefects with a call on them to be determined and study hard in order to excel academically and serve as role models to other students.
The Director of the school, Mr Ernest Joseph Peter Brown, said a great opportunity had been given to them as prefects to contribute their quota to the development of the school, therefore, they should make good use of their time.
“Time waits for no man so use your time profitably and make good use of the facilities available in the school to harness your talents to better your lives and the nation as a whole,” he said.
Lawyer Andy Vortia, who administered the oath of office, advised them not to sacrifice their academic work for their leadership responsibilities.
Rather, they should be self disciplined to combine both academic work and their responsibilities effectively to achieve the best in both endeavours.
“It can be difficult but learn to have the strength to overcome the pressure and feel free to contact your teachers when you are faced with any challenge,” he stated.
The Senior Boys Prefect, Master Joseph Kankam, on behalf of the new prefects, thanked the school authorities for the confidence they had reposed in them.
“We would work at ensuring discipline among students to enhance academic work,” he said.
The prefects for the junior high department are Joseph Kankam, Senior Boys Prefect; Martha Bawah, Girls Prefect; Prince Parry Osei, Assistant Boys Prefect and Shanice Estelle Appau, Assistant Girls Prefect.
The compound overseers are Samuel Dodoo, Boys Compound Overseer; Serwa Barnie, Girls Compound Overseer; Bernard Achenie, Assistant Boys Compound Overseer; Akua Yamoaba Ansah; Assistant Girls Compound Overseer.
Lennox Safo Asamoah and Diana Bilson are the Sports Overseers. The others are the Canteen Monitors, Sonia Richson and Kwamina Montford; Chaplains, Emmanuella Danquah and Samuel Takyi; Praise and Worship Leader, Akua Buahemaa Buahin.
The rest are Brown House prefects (House 1), Kelim Kojo Kinney and Eugenia Oware; Ocloo House prefects (House 2), Emmanuel Larbi and Lois Lawson; Garbrah House prefects (House 3), Phanuel Nutsuakor and Mawufemor Dorgbedor; Sam House prefects (House 4), Emmanuel Asiedu and Theresa Opoku Darko.
Freda Opoku and Priscilla Tabil are Office Girls while Theophilus Kelvin Tettey and Stephanie Tsikata are Time Keepers.
