The walk, amidst brass band music, started from the school’s premises through the Danquah Circle, the Ako Adjei Interchange, Christ the King School, the Cantonments Communication Centre, the Ghana International School and back to the school.

The 50th anniversary celebration is on the theme: “Thank God for the Morning Star School.”

Speaking on the theme for the celebration, the Managing Director of the school, Mrs Nana Abena Kwakye, said, “God is the reason for our success; hence, the theme for the anniversary.”

“God has over the years been faithful to us and that is why we are here to offer our gratitude to Him,” she added.

The school, according to Mrs Kwakye, was established in 1965 and has since chalked up a lot of successes and that is one of the reasons pupils, students, teachers and the entire school administration hit the streets to outdoor its 50th milestone.

She said the walk also provided an avenue for pupils and teachers to exercise and have fun.

Other activities for the celebration are a funfair, carols service and Christmas concert, alumni reunion, sports and games, a musical concert, an art exhibition, as well as a Speech and Prize-giving Day and a thanksgiving service.
