Members of the Writers and Debaters Club of the Mfantsipim School, Cape Coast, have paid a familiarisation visit to the offices of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) in Accra.
The visit was to get the students acquainted with the processes articles go through before they are published in the various newspapers of the company.
The students also had the opportunity of watching a documentary about the birth of the company and how it grew to become a media giant in the country today.
The students continued their tour of the GCGL by visiting G-Pak Limited, a subsidiary of the GCGL and learnt about how the CPT Printing technology is undertaken.
The CTP is a type of printing process in which a digital image is transmitted directly from a computer onto a plate.
During question time, the students enquired how the company is able to transport the newspapers to other parts of the country, how the reporters get stories for publication and also wanted to know how risky the journalism profession is.
