Isabelle A Quaye wins Write Away Contest

Fourteen-year-old Isabelle A Quaye of Alsyd Academy emerged the winner of this year’s Write Away Contest in which over 1000 students participated.

For her prize, she was given GHC 5,000.00 plus hampers from the various sponsors.

Citi FM organised the competition as part of its contribution to the development of education in Ghana. The competition, which has been running for the past seven years, is to help improve the writing skills of children with the involvement of parents the children are rewarded for their ingenuity, creativity and unique writing skills.

The ‘Write Away’ Contest is an annual essay competition for pupils and students within the age bracket of 10 to 14 who are Ghanaians. Winners over the past years have been treated to a week’s educational trip to a foreign location where they are exposed to other cultures.

The 1st and 2nd runner-ups, Yvonne Obeng Kyeremanteng of Jack and Jill and Jeffery Bannerman of SAPS School, were presented with GH¢3,000 and GH¢1,000 respectively.

Winners were also selected from the various participating regions and awarded with GH¢500 each for their efforts.
