The GAEC Basic School, for coming tops, was presented with a trophy, a set of jerseys, a football and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Utoma Oxford International School and the Living Star School also walked away with cash prizes, a set of jerseys and a football each for their effort.

The one-day event was held on the theme: “Promoting peace through sports and entertainment.”

It was aimed at giving children at the basic school level some education on HIV/AIDS and malaria, teach them life saving skills, unearth young talents for the national teams and create a platform for networking among sister schools.

In all, a total of 14 schools participated in the contest. They were the GAEC Basic School, the Utoma Oxford International, the Living Star School, the Achimota Preparatory and JHS, the Virgo Preparatory, the Living Word Academy, the Anchilla Primary and Junior High School and the Mount Zion Methodist School.

The rest are the Calvary Methodist Primary and JHS, the Glow-Lamb International School, the Mayflower International School, the Flobar School, Freshers Complex School and the SAP’s School.

In an address before the games began, the Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Mrs Gifty Twum Ampofo advised the schoolchildren to be disciplined and work hard to achieve their objectives in life.
