Dear Auntie Betty, I am 14 years old and have a boyfriend. I want to end the relationship with him. How do I go about it?

Dear Worried Girl, It is normal for teenagers to get attracted to the opposite sex. But at the age of 14, you are not mature for a boy-girl relationship.

So it is a good decision to call it quits. Ending a relationship is not easy but you have to muster courage and go ahead with it.

You need to have a chat with your friend and be honest with him about ending the relationship. Be firm but polite.  Also, be prepared for his reaction – he may accept it, be sad or get angry.

But you have to stand your ground because it is for your own good. Being in a boy-girl relationship could impact negatively on your education, life, and well-being now or in the future.
