250 Girls receive sanitary pads

More than 250 pupils from two communities in the Ada East District of the Greater Accra Region have been educated on menstrual hygiene management.

The girls also benefitted from free sanitary pads distributed to them by an NGO, Hope for Future Generations (HFFG).

Dubbed “Pads for Girls Everywhere”, the HFFG distrubuted 1,000 pieces of pads as  part of  it’s efforts towards ensuring that young girls from deprived communities and homes practice the best of menstrual hygiene to safeguard their reproductive health.

The beneficiary communities were Pediatorkope, an Island community at Ada  and Kajanya.

The Executive Director of HFFG, Mrs Cecilia Senoo, in an interview with the Junior Graphic said the project sought to promote good menstrual hygiene management for girls (both in school and out of school), including those living with disabilities.
