11-Year old football commentator discovered

An eleven-year-old class six pupil of the AGA School in Obuasi is making waves in Kumasi with his extraordinary gift of running football commentary, sweeping radio listeners off their feet in the last FA Cup between Arsenal and Chelsea of the English Premiership.

Arsenal won the match 2-1 but, it was not the scoreline that got fans to jubilate, rather it was the display of young Lewis "Vande-Pallen" Kessey's inherent talent that got fans talking.

Indeed, he brought meaning and professionalism to sports commentary, reminding many of the like of Joe Lartey and Eric Bakoe, all of GBC fame.

He went beyond the usual deafening noise by recent local commentors to giving detail background of each player with the right terminology of the game.

As a guest on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM Sports programme, Lewis was in his elements, speaking non-stop for the first 30 minutes before he was interjected by his host.

His display of raw talent got social media buzzing on the day as many wondered where "he has been hiding."

Lewis told Junior Graphic after his amazing show: "My dream is to be a full time commentator after university."
His interest in football developed early, and has spent time each weekend listening and watching football across the globe.

"I also try to read around the game and learn how commentary is ran," he said.

The Sanfo Aduam in Bekwai Municipality boy who resides Obuasi in the Ashanti Region wants to build his capacity with a study in communications at any accredited university in future.
