Zimbabwe outlaws corporal punishment

Zimbabwe's High Court judges have ruled that the use of corporal punishment on children at school and in the home is illegal - though the constitutional court still has to confirm the ruling.

The move brings Zimbabwe into line with around a third of countries worldwide who have outlawed the beating of children.

The ruling follows a complaint from a parent about a teacher who attacked her child.
