The Kenyan government has begun a new push to strengthen its relationship with African countries in a bid to widen trade markets.
Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed said Wednesday the government wants to boost its market share in the intra-Africa trade.
"We have the potential to export goods to African countries and thus the reason for building strong relationships," said Ms Mohammed during a breakfast meeting with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (Kepsa) at the Hotel Intercontinental, Nairobi.
"Economic diplomacy in Africa is mandatory."
She invited the private sector to be part of recommending honorary consulates in Kenya missions abroad.
