One dysfunctional legacy, a sickening canker, which has undermined our claim to democracy and the respect for the rule of law, is the tolerance for criminal conduct in the name of partisan causes. From the days of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah when there were the action troopers and matemeho, we seem to always condone deviant and criminal behaviour for as long as it has some beneficial consequences, no matter how limited, for a partisan cause.
