Lawlessness in Koforidua

Walking in the Central Business District of Koforidua is hell. Pastors have taken over the pedestrian walkways preaching and it is a nuisance.They go to the extent of asking passers-by for GH¢1 to buy batteries for their machines.

I don’t have any problem with people preaching but not to the extent of asking for money. Some even come to the CBD, not to preach but to ask for money.  Some of them try to be historians but they give out wrong information.

Noise pollution is what they cause, especially when the temperature is very high. They are often stationed at the Ghana Commercial Bank and the National Insurance Scheme Office. Buying items in the market becomes very difficult. Communication between the buyer and the seller is a problem. One has to strain one’s ears in order  to hear. This does not augur well for business.

Another notable problem is the way sellers have parked their tables at the bus stop just opposite the Total Filling Station.

The question I ask myself is: who is in charge of the CBD of Koforidua? Are the municipal authorities aware of the situation? The earlier something is done about this chaos, the bett
