24-hour economy just a slogan

Politicians have seen how easy it is to win the Ghanaian electorate over with beautifully crafted slogans.

The current government used slogans like One District One Factory (1D1F), Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ), One Village One Dam (1V1D), Free Senior High School (SHS), NABCO, etc. to win.

It was obvious that these slogans resonated with the Ghanaian electorate, becoming a chorus, as all were excited at the prospects of factories in their districts, employment opportunities for the unemployed multitude and bringing hope for a better Ghana.

For some of us, Ghana Beyond Aid was the slogan that made us feel proud and patriotic, believing in the vision of the black man finally managing his affairs, as Nkrumah had declared at Independence.

All these slogans, which were to build Ghana's economy, have ended up breaking Ghana's economy.

Going into the 2024 elections, I am not surprised about new slogans popping up.

With a poor economy in sight and most of us complaining, it will be obvious that new slogans will be directed at saving the economy.

The NDC has introduced the 24-hour economy slogan.

I will advise the NPP to use the 24/7 economy if they want to win elections, because like I said, in Ghana, slogans win elections.

The NDC Communicators use the queues at the passport office as reasons why a 24-hour economy is needed.

Slogans will, indeed, win us elections and Ghana will continue to be where it is.
