Watching through the President’s State of the Nation address, I observed a refreshing change of attitude by our Honourable men and women. For once, members of the August house conducted themselves honourably, respectfully and acted with the utmost decorum.
Unlike on previous occasions, our Members of Parliament accorded the President the due respect he deserves. The entire event was devoid of heckling by opposition members and the display of pre-painted placards.
The opposition members on this occasion acted with such dignified restraint that, at a point I missed the unrestrained noisy and cacophonous atmosphere we are used to.
May this newly discovered culture of decorum be sustained by our Honourable men and women in the august house.
