Chronicles of A Nation
During the time Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate, Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, became angry and conspired to assassinate King Xerxes. But Mordecai found out about the plot and told Queen Esther, who in turn reported it to the king, giving credit to Mordecai. And when the report was investigated and found to be true, the two officials were impaled on poles. All this was recorded in the book of the annals in the presence of the king. - Esther 2:21-23 NIV
.....CHRONICLE has been described as written account of events, detailing when they happened; like ANNALS they are a collation of events in chronological order, each event being recorded under the year in which it happened...in short, historical records....a reference point for generations yet-unborn...akin to the BOOK OF LIFE.....the record of each person's life here on the earth...the RECORD and not manufactured occurrences of what didn't happen but now the records being falsified or rewritten to give prominence to another person to make him or her a hero or heroine....indeed: it's the record of our exploits here on earth, whilst we have breath and upon which we shall all be judged by our maker...detailing our omissions and commissions as true reflections of our lives...

....for a king, the chronicles detail events that happen in his kingdom or nation or state, including exploits of ALL CITIZENRY, irrespective of political coloration or tribes affiliations, or religion...for POSTERITY...so that generations unborn will be taught and told of these men and women of valor, patriots, nationalists, ordinary people who sacrificed their lives for the unity and prosperity of a people....or men and women of destiny like Mordecai whose diligence and loyalty saved the reign of a king...or men and women whose lives gave hope to others to live better lives and future....
....indeed, for the Lord God Almighty it was imperative that the journey of the EXODUS of the Israelites be recorded for posterity so that the signs and wonders that HE, the Lord performed for the people will never be forgotten by future generations...so we won't repeat what was said of Joseph and Daniel that a new Pharaoh came who didn't know Joseph...or new king of Babylon came who didn't know Daniel....
....nation building is like a LEGO game...and each generation adds to the history and hereditary of the people...no matter the quantum or quality...but all play individual, unique contributions to the collective....
...as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth each Easter...what most regard as REBIRTH by another definition...of new opportunities...of righting all previous mistakes and wrongs...it's important to note that it's another platform given us as a nation and a people to rethink our lives and recognize that POLITICS AS USUAL...must be a thing of the past as it continues to divide us the more instead of bringing us closer together as a people…
….we need to rethink our VALUE SYSTEMS as they have broken down and given us the crude, old life of the jungle...SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST...or the REIGN OF WHO IS MOST WICKED...or WHO IS MOST CORRUPT...and please this isn't politics...if we are very honest with ourselves and not play the ostrich...we will all admit that WE HAVE ALL FAILED OURSELVES & OUR PEOPLE...especially as we haven’t been able to transfer the real concept of leadership to the grassroots because we are afraid of losing our grip…but we cannot continue the ‘spoon-feeding’ style of national administration…otherwise how come with all advancements, we still cannot handle the issue of sanitation – because of our approach to the problem-solving…it is a town council or district assembly of applying instant sanctions to deter households and or from littering…any other approach is plain monolithic…
….lies isn’t a proper foundation on which to build a nation or society or family….as we only tend to perpetuate lying as a way of life and that TRUTH DOES NOT MATTER in anything…any nation will be doomed if the youth begin to think and accept that lying in all things will get one to the top of any sphere of endeavour…this will also see the end of creativity and drive for excellence…in any human endeavour….
….the people we lead wherever we find ourselves know that they are being lied to...to the extent that we now lie to each other with such impunity...a pastor can look directly into the face of his congregants and lie on a prophesy with impunity to make extra money from these lies...our children lie with new 'finesse' even as they continue to live double lives of ‘inappropriateness’ on our various campuses....
….WHO ARE WE ALL DECEIVING....ourselves or the MAN, whose life and death we keep celebrating each Easter...
….Jesus Christ of Nazareth was human like us but was able to live a life of righteousness...not deviating from His destiny...ordained before the foundations of the universe...such destinies we are all ordained with...where have we gone wrong as a people...that now we are so, and so, and so materialistic now...and lesser and lesser spiritual...no selflessness...no sacrifices anymore...
….let's come to ourselves fast before we lose it all...and if anybody thinks he or she can get away with it both here on earth and not matter after-death....think again....you have NO IDEA what lies ahead of you after death...trust me...it's most horrifying...
….better still, if we continue with these lies, re-write the chronicles of our nation every 4 years depending on which party is in power, so the history is twisted with new ‘heroes’ who fought or did not participate in Ghana’s independence struggle…or question how the exploits of the Aborigines Rights Protection Society became the precursor of the Gold Coast’s desire for independence…otherwise the Fante Confederacy formed in 1868 and dissolved in 1874 – as one of the first self – rule movements in Africa would also lay a claim through the descendants of its proponents that they ought to be counted as founders of modern Ghana…
….if we don’t have an impartial recorder of the history of this nation, allowing this assignment to lend itself to manipulation by whichever political party or persuasion is in power every 4 or 8 years then we will be setting some precedents that after the next century it would be so difficult to have a true, impartial accounts of the builders of this great nation, Ghana….
….every year after any celebration of National Awards, packed with people of one political persuasion, there will always be cries upon cries because the basis for selection and honour were anything than justifiable…what is worse, for as long as this system persists those who are truly national heroes but do not belong to either of the two dominant political parties will never be honoured, irrespective of how much they have or had contributed to this nation’s growth and development…or until there is a new political persuasion before others could be so named…how sad for a nation such as Ghana…that many not only on the continent of Africa look up to but others across the globe…funnily we could be so mean in these matters to take as low as in STREET-NAMING…if you are in doubt, go round all the towns and cities and check…
….believe we need an independent national secretariat to re-write the unadulterated CHRONICLES OF GHANA, from the very beginning of all our struggles from the Fante Confederacy, the Ashanti Confederacy, and the Aborigines Rights Protection Society, right up to the independence struggle to the fateful 6th March 1957….and thereafter continue with the 1st to the 4th Republic and including all the military coups, not so much as legalize coups but to give the historical antecedents right and lay all ghosts to rest…so that we could have a smooth ride into the sunset…..
….this exercise is very important so we stop continuing with the foundations built on lies….
