Artists lined up for the event include Sarkodie, Samini, Stonebwoy, Kaakie and Kwabena Kwabena
According to Reflects Ghana, organisers of the event, the aim of the concert is to bring back the euphoria and joy surrounding Ghana’s Independence Day celebration as witnessed on 6th March 1957.
Foster Amponsah, event manager for Reflects Ghana told Showbiz that, the event is not just to entertain Ghanaians but to educate them on the struggle some of our leaders encountered for the nation to have its independence.
Mr. Amponsah believes the selected musicians are crowd pullers who will make the show a success.
“We decided to go for these musicians because our outfit believes they are the best Ghanaian musicians at the moment and they will deliver their best on the night” he said.
He said Freedom Concert is here to stay and will be replicated in the remaining regions in subsequent years.
When Showbiz contacted Stonebwoy he said he is more than ready for the concert. According to him, he mostly perform in Accra but come March 6, his fans in Kumasi will have a feel of him.
Guru also said he is prepared to “destroy” the venue with his many hit songs such as Pooley, Bosam Ani, Lapaz Toyota, Alkayida and Kpakpakpa.
