However, their latest track which keeps receiving much airplay seem to have eluded many people in the entertainment industry as well as music lovers who have not paid attention to trace the exploits and whereabout of this group.
Known as Rekxboiz, the Tema based group led by Jeremiah Obuobi, seem to be running faster than they had anticipated with their latest release called “Partee”. The new song has since its release a few weeks ago witnessed more than 60, 000 downloads.
“Partee” which is currently taking the group to a different pedestal is a danceable tune which will fit any party. Sang in both Ghanaian cum Nigerian pidgin English, the song is spiced with some metaphorical Twi lyrics and will sure tickle music lovers to make a move on any dance floor due to its combination of highlife, afro beats and melodic inflections.
“Partee” recorded at Rekx Record Studios, Tema features Rekx Boiz Lil Kay, Kabir Tempo, K’Blaq and Rekx Girl Jeepha.
Explaining the reason behind the title “Partee”, the leader of the group Jeremiah Obuobi, told Graphic Showbiz that “Partee” suggests the moment when one could forget the worries of the world and have fun through dancing.
“Partee is a song that appeals to the heart” he said, adding that the idea behind the song was engineered by the motivation of the group to aim higher in order to achieve their ultimate dream of being if not the best, one of the best music groups in Ghana and on the continent.
Jeremiah Obuobi who is also the Brands and Communication Officer for Rekx Records, said apart from music, Rekx Records is also into clothing and footwear. The group is currently in the studio and he says Ghanaians should watchout for another blast of a song.
