Nana Yaa, Amandzeba for Adinkra Festival

A number of Ghanaian musicians have been selected to perform at the maiden edition of Adinkra Concert scheduled for the Oxford Street Mall from August 30 to September 3.

The musicians Amandzeba, Trigmatic, Nana Yaa and Worlasi will mount the stage at the event which aims at creating opportunity for businesses to come together and exchange goods and services that promote the African experience.

Speaking in an interview with Showbiz, Kofi Oduro Acheampong, CEO of Africa Arts Network, organisers of the event said the selection of the artistes was based on the fact that their brands represent and promote the African personality.

“I personally chose them because the kind of music they do represent Africanism. To me, they are the best musicians we have around and I am glad they are going to be a part of this festival” he added.

Nana Yaa who is excited to be part of the festival said it’s an opportunity to perform her two new singles Don’t Leave Me Alone which features MzVee and Handkerchief.

According to Mr Oduro Acheampong, the Adinkra Festival is going to be an annual event. “The five-day event is going to be awesome as a lot has been lined up to make it worth its while.

“The festival/fair is expected to gather people for a variety of commercial activities and entertainment while promoting a beautiful display of the African lifestyle. Over 40 vendors who will be exhibiting their products and services inside and in front of the Mall.

“ In a ddition to the artistes performing, patrons will be treated to a play entitled Upstairs and Downstairs which will be performed by Ken Fiati and his crew and a fashion show by Nallem Clothing to promote the African lifestyle”, he added.
