It was a lot of fun when the conference hall of the Bedtime Hotel in Koforidua played host to the maiden edition of the Koforidua Polytechnic SRC Awards on Saturday, April 9.
The well attended event was put together by Lumen Entertainment, an event organising company, and the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Koforidua Polytechnic.
The event which aimed at recognising and rewarding deserving alumini and students from the educational institution, also saw other categories such as Best Couple and Most Endowed categories being awarded.
Some of the keenly contested categories included the Best Overall Student, Most Fashionable Student and Most Promising Student.
Winners on the night received plaques with the Overall Best Student taking home an all expense paid two-weeks trip to Kenya.
In addition to the awards, patrons were entertained on the night by D-Black, Koo Ntakra, Gemini, Tino, Yung Pabi and Yayra.
And the emcee of the night, comedian DKB, was something else. He laced the event with rib splitting jokes.
In an interview with some students after the awards night, they told Showbiz that, “The awards event is good and we had loads of fun but we would entreat the organisers to increase the number of categories to cover all the disciplines on campus.”
