“My name is Peace Hyde. I’m an actress, presenter, event host and voice-over artiste.”
That was how the young lady from Gh One television introduced herself to guests last week, at the launch of the MTN Hit-Maker III music talent contest at the MTN Ghana Head Office, Ridge Towers in Accra.
She has been selected to partner broadcaster and well-known Master of Ceremony, Bola Ray, on this year’s MTN Hit-Maker programme. Bola emceed the first two editions with Nana Aba Anamoah of TV3.
“I’m really excited about MTN Hit-Maker mainly because I’ll co-host with the awesome Bola Ray. It is a brilliant opportunity to know the contestants and actually have access to their dreams,” Ms Hyde said at the launch event.
“I bring my personality on board and I think that given how scary and stressful this whole period will be for the contestants, I think it would be good to have me on board just make sure that they don’t have heart attacks and are able to perform and do the best.”
The tag line for this years contest is ‘Dream It, Live It.’ Potential contestants have between now and August 22 to drop their demos at MTN branch offices across the country; upload demos on the MTNplay portal or leave their demos at partner radio stations.
After the demo collection, there would be screening and audition sessions till 10 artistes are selected to feature in the 13-week television reality show.
There will then be eviction shows till four contestants are left to battle it out for the ultimate prize of a recording deal worth Gh¢100,000.
