Another MTN Choralfest is here

When MTN Ghana last year added a choral event to the list of music-oriented  programmes it sponsors, the telecommunications company promised it would be a yearly affair at Easter and the promise is being kept.

Another edition of the MTN Choralfest is set to happen on Easter Sunday, April 20 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Choirs on the bill are Winneba Youth Choir, Harmonius Chorale, Dansoman Youth Choir, Mount Olivet Choir and the M Praise Choir.

Solo artistes due to perform are Cecilia Marfo, OJ, Boadiwaa, Ernest Opoku, Kay Bee from Season 2 of MTN Hitmaker, Ceccy Twum and Miriam from MTN Hitmaker Season 1.

The National Dance Company will also be on stage for a choreographed performance of the story of salvation.

MTN officials say the company knows Easter is an important event in Christian worship and that was why the promise to stage a meaningful programme related to the  crucifixion, death and resurrection of Christ had been kept.

“Good choirs abound and more are being formed all the time. We want to use Choralfest to highlight their progress as well as offering them the chance to minister to people not necessarily from their churches,” the MTN source said.

Ticket for the show are available  at key MTN Offices in Accra. Proceeds from Choralfest 2014, which is being  supported by Pepsi, will be donated to charity.
