TV3 introduces The Next Top Actor reality show

TV3 has built the reputation as a leading television station for reality shows and it is doing so with yet another reality show to unearth new talents for the Ghanaian movie scene dubbed:  "The Next Top Actor."

As a station noted for churning out stars in different genres of the arts, this is a new opportunity for young actors and actresses to showcase their acting skills.

The Next Top Actor provides a platform for contestants to get that big break in their acting career. The show provides an opportunity for youngsters enrolling in film schools and other actors to be mentored and trained by industry experts.

In an interview, General Manager for Production of Media General's Adesa Productions Limited (APL), Mr. Eddie Seddor Jr, said they were cooking something compelling for television viewers.

“The team at Adesa Production and TV3 is always thinking of the audience and this production would be full of drama that would make viewers stay glued to their TV sets”, he noted.

He added it is part of Media General’s dream to always unearth talents that can transform society and add variety to our lives.

Mr. Seddor noted that “the success of the drama series, Sadia, is a testimony of our commitment to our audience and we would not waiver from this for the years to come”.

The Next Top Actor is not only a strong foundation for upcoming actors but also facilitates skills transfer from others in the industry.

The show will see 10 up and coming actors battle it out on camera for the title of ‘The Top Actor in Ghana’ for 13 weeks until a winner emerges at the end.

It would create a springboard for actors into the industry by providing exposure which the contestants would not ordinarily have had.

Successful contestants get the opportunity to be featured in upcoming short films of Adesa Production Limited.

Auditions for The Next Top Actor takes place tomorrow, Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23 at the TV3 premises at Kanda.
