PM wins Di Asa Season 3

PM crowned queen of Di Asa Season 3

SEASON 3 of Di Asa, the popular dance reality show for plus-sized women came to an end in the wee hours of Sunday, September 29 with Precious Mensah who went by PM on the show, being crowned the winner.

The final came off at the Fantasy Dome of the Trade Fair Centre, Accra on the night of Saturday, September 28 and ended at dawn on Sunday.

PM, who was one of the representatives of the Greater Accra Region in the competition, was the biggest of all the finalists but that did not stop her from delivering some amazing dances moves that wowed both judges and the audience.

Her performance on the night earned the bragging rights as Di Asa queen over the most consistent contestant all season long, Gaza, who came second. On the night when it mattered most, Gaza faltered with the judges not too happy with her output on the finale.

Gaza, who placed second received a cash prize of GH¢2,000 in addition to a mini truck

Maafia placed third with Sapato, the oldest contestant among the finalists coming in fourth place.

The show which gave the public 60 per cent voting rights with the judges taking 40 percent and PM emerged with the highest votes in both areas.

For her prize as winner, PM received a brand new Hyundai saloon car, a cash prize of GH¢2,500, products from sponsors and a 32-inch LED TV. Gaza received a mini truck (Abossey Okai Macho) and also took home a cash prize of GH¢2,000 and products from sponsors.

Maafia came in third

Maafia meanwhile won a tricycle (Aboboyaa), a cash prize of GH¢2, 000 and goodies from sponsors.

Another tricycle (aboboyaa) was presented to Sapato as a special award by Atinka Media Village for her participation and her ability to reach fourth place considering her age.

Apart from their prizes, the winners will also enjoy a sponsored trip to Dubai and receive certificates of recognition.

Performances by artistes such as Wendy Shay, Joyce Blessing, Sister Afia, Patapaa, ‘Di Asa’ hitmaker Ntiamoah, Article Wan, Akosua Agyapong and Ghana-based Nigerian Afro pop singer Eze, spiced up the show.

Some dignitaries present at the event were the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Cynthia Morrison and the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Barbara Oteng-Gyasi among others.

Managing Director of Atinka Media Village, Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor said aside the prizes awarded to the winners, the Season 3 contestants of Di Asa will be trained in any craft of their choice so they can have a sustainable livelihood.

Di Asa was introduced by the Atinka Media Village for plus -sized market women to have fun through dancing while learning about living a healthy life.
