Celebrity Pulpit with Maame Grace starts tomorrow

Public figures are often perceived to be worldly and because of what they show off on social media, they are seen as having no relationship with God but Apostle Maame Grace is bent on changing that perception with her new television show called Celebrity Pulpit.

The first season, which starts from tomorrow, Friday, May 7 on GHOne TV will have appearances from award-winning Hitz FM presenter and DJ, Andy Dosty, Joy FM’s Drive Time host Lexis Bill, TV3's morning show host Johnnie Hughes and a lot more amazing celebrities who will share inspiring and transformational stories.

Maame Grace epxlained to Graphic Showbiz that the show’s idea came about after one of her radio shows.

“The idea came after one of the shows I did on radio and I began to worry about the fans who follow famous people thinking they have no challenges just because these people always appear to live luxurious lives and are happy.

“However, the truth is that celebrities are human. They face a lot of challenges which some of them overcome so we need to tell their side of the story. We need to offer the opportunity for famous people to be agents of direct inspirational preaching,” she explained.

She added that the purpose of Celebrity Pulpit is also to debunk the assertion that celebrities do not love or worship God. "Most people think celebs don't worship God, because they are not like the ordinary person.

“But trust me, we'll get all of them to come and preach for people to see that God lives in them and that's why they can achieve all these things people are seeing. It always starts and ends with God, those who sing will do so, those who speak in tongues will do that.

“For me, this is a fresh idea for television, an interesting one that might get people to wonder who is next to climb the pulpit and what he or she would say. From my observation, Celebrity Pulpit as a TV show will essentially bring us a little closer to our icons and prove that, indeed they are just human.”

Celebrity Pulpit according to Maame Grace will let fans know that all that glitters is not gold and that there is a story, a challenge behind all the glamour the celebrities show us.

“It is said that if the challenges we face don't kill us, they can only make us stronger. This is why such a platform has been created for movie stars, media personalities and musicians to come face to face with their fans and share their true-life stories, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them.

“By so doing, we are able to motivate the general public and urge them that whatever they are going through is just a passing phase and they will come out victorious.”

Celebrity Pulpit is produced Global Eagle Revival Outreach Ministry, a church dedicated to preaching the word of God through media productions and is led by Apostle Maame Grace Opoku.
