Yaa Pono returns with 'Fa Adwen'

HE has been missing in action for a while but rapper Yaa Pono is coming back. He is announcing his return to the music scene with a new song, Fa Adwen which dropped on Monday June 6, 2022.

Fa Adwen is expected to push the Uptown Energy Records signee back into the competitive space.

According to Yaa Pono, Fa Adwen is off his upcoming Mawusi EP which he intends to unveil by the end of the year.

Fa Adwen produced by Gbevu Music Group is a blend of HipHop and Hiplife and features rapper Flowking Stone.

In a chat with Graphic Showbiz, the Obiaa Wo Ne Master hitmaker mentioned that even though he has been quiet in the last few years, he has been working hard behind the scenes to come out very good songs which will be appreciated by all.

He said, this is not the first time he has gone MIA only to bounce back with good stuff.

There has been times in the past where he was written off but came back stronger so people should expect the best from him with Fa Adwen and the Mawusi EP.

“This is Yaa Pono we are talking about here, I always have something up my sleeves and I know this time around, it will be more than fireworks.

"When I dropped Gbee Naabu, it was at a time when people thought nothing good could come from me again but see what happened. I’m just unpredictable so people should just watch out for me,” he said.

Yaa Pono, real name, Solomon Adu Antwi started doing music 1995. He came out with a mix tape in 2007 which was well received in Ghana.

He joined Pidgin Records label in 2009 but his biggest hit, Amen, a tribute to the famous Nigerian Afrobeat King Fela Anikulapo Kuti was released in 2013.

He released his debut album, Sea Blue in 2013 which featured songs such as Sokoo, Streetboy, Gbe Naabu, Noko and Sika Duro.

His song, Obiaa Wo Ne Master released in 2018 featuring Stonebwoy earned him the Hiplife Song of the Year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 2019.
