Starting the month with laughter at the RCCG Accra‘s August 1 drama and comedy night was an incredible way to kick things off.

And having Nigerian standup comedian and actor, Lafup as the international guest comedian headlining the show was an absolute treat! Lafup's comedic themes are not only relevant but also showcase his clear knowledge of global concerns. What's even more impressive is his ability to touch on sensitive issues and address them with ease, wrapping it all up in pure comedy.

Lafup's deep-witted comedy routine kept the audience engaged and entertained throughout his 40-minute performance. His use of space on stage was remarkable, allowing him to fully express his comedic genius. Not only did he have impeccable timing, but his role play skills were also on point, adding an extra layer of hilarity to his act. 

What made Lafup's performance truly special was his ability to incorporate various performance elements, including singing. 

Lafup's comedy skills showed as he effortlessly blended humour, sharing his personal experiences of living in Ghana for five years. 

The audience was a blend of Ghanaians and Nigerians. Interestingly, Ghanaians seem to have enjoyed more of Lafup’s comedy skits. 

 One of the high points of the night was when Lafup introduced a subtle twist on the Ghana Jollof war theme, cleverly addressing the long-standing love-hate relationship between both countries.

 It brought the house down with laughter and added an extra layer of entertainment to the show. It's evident that Lafup is a master of his craft, captivating the audience with his wit, charm, and comedic prowess. His performance was a true delight, leaving the audience in stitches and craving for more.

Lafup not only showcased his own talent but also brought along two of his proteges, Phronesis and Kevin Sapp, who delivered impressive performances of their own. It's incredible to see how Lafup, born Segun Ogundipe has influenced and nurtured young comedians, providing them with a platform to shine. The audience was captivated by their comedic skills and the energy they brought to the stage.

All in all, the RCCG drama and comedy night with Lafup as the headliner was a night to remember. It was filled with laughter, thought-provoking moments, and a celebration of comedic talent. Lafup's ability to tackle sensitive issues with humour is truly commendable, and his protégés proved to be rising stars in their own right. 

It's safe to say that everyone left the show with a smile on their face and a heart full of laughter.
