Shatta Wale is my inspiration— Fireboy

Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale may have a lot of critics because of his controversial ways but for Ghana-based Nigerian artiste, Fireboy, the self-proclaimed Dancehall King is the reason he has decided to go commercial with his music.

“I have a high opinion of Shatta Wale because of what he is doing for Ghana music. He is one of the biggest artistes in Ghana and I admire him for his success.

He encourages me a lot and I can boldly say I don’t regret looking up to him as my mentor,” he told Showbiz in an interview on Monday.

Fireboy says his love for Shatta Wale has been transferred to Ghana.

Born in Enugu State in Nigeria, Fireboy, whose real name is Mamah Stanley Emeka, believes his stay in Ghana would help to boost his brand.

He is currently promoting his latest track, Once Upon A Time featuring another Nigerian Patoranking and he is optimistic he can attain the successes of acts like Mr Eazi, who made hits in Ghana.

On the low tempo Once Upon A Time, recorded by Mix Masta Garzy, Fireboy talks about his hustler lifestyle and how he has suffered on his own to build a comfortable life for himself through hard work.

Patoranking does what he knows best as he delivers lines about how he had to leave his comfort zone to seek greener pastures elsewhere when life was tough for him.

Fireboy told Showbiz he is he is ready to work with artistes like his mentor Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy on subsequent songs.
