Rapturous fun and partying at VGMA nominees Xperience Concert in Ho

The Ho Sports stadium was momentarily turned into a fertile party grounds when some of the finest GH musicians including Stonebwoy, Medikal, Camidoh, Piesie Esther, Wendy Shay stormed there for this year’s VGMA Xperience nominees jam concert yesterday, April 15.

The highly publicised event kicked off at about 9:30 pm with some underground artistes from the Volta Region creating the right atmosphere for revelers before nominees for VGMA Unsung Artiste took the stage to do their own thing.     

Right after that session, comedian Foster Romanus who was the compere for the night announced Wendy Shay as the next act and she just had the right medicine to send the crowd into an ecstatic frenzy.

Performing songs like ‘Bedroom Commando’, ‘Survivor’, ‘Uber Driver’ and ‘Heaven’, Wendy Shay got the crowd singing along to all her songs amidst screams of her name. She ended her performance with a speech telling the fans to do things that please them.                                      

 Next on stage was Camidoh, a native of the Volta Region. The thunderous cheers at the mention of his name undoubtedly showed that Camidoh was “home”.

There was nothing short of spectacular in his stage craft as he lived up to the high expectations. He couldn’t have left without performing Sugarcane Remix which was the people’s favourite. Gospel singers, Piesie Esther and Celestine Donkor also had their time on stage and they were received well.

The energy at which Medikal came on stage really showed he meant business and was spot on with his act. Medikal was superb throughout his performance thrilling the fans with songs like ‘Omo Ada’, ‘Too Risky’, ‘Stubborn Academy’, and ‘La Hustle’ among others.

Stonebwoy was the final act and the fans could not have enough of him as he served them with a live band music. With a repertoire of hit songs like ‘Kpokeke’, ‘Everlasting’, ‘Critical’, ‘Nominate’, ‘Solobo’, ‘Putuu’, ‘Hero’ and ‘Run Go’, the 2015 VGMA Artiste of the Year gave made a good case for himself with his stagecraft.

Yesterday’ VGMA nominees Xperience Concert in Ho was an eventful night to increase excitement of music audience for the main awards ceremony on Saturday, May 6 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
