Preachers:Thanks for the recognition

It is new on the Ghanaian gospel music front and Preachers, who have been championing the rap/hiphop gospel music is grateful for the recognition that music genre is earning.

The trio summed up the recognition in their nomination of Gospel Artiste of the Year, Group of the Year and the Music Video of the Year categories in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

According to the young men who are committed to changing the face of rap music through  preaching and teaching the word of God, the nomination is their ‘wages’ for their “hard work and commitment” over the years.

“We are very excited about the nominations because they give us hope that gospel rap or urban music has been accepted. This style of gospel music seemed alien to even the church so they were reluctant to accept it but we are happy it has been embraced now.
