For a show dubbed, Loud In Ghana, which also had some of the hottest artistes on its bill, one expected nothing but good fun it promised and the jam which came off last Saturday at the La Pleasure Beach ‘walked the talk’.
Although the show, organised by YFM started as late as 9 pm when the publicised time was 5 pm, it made up for the delay when it eventually started to roll. And patrons had fun dancing to music from artistes such as Bisa Kdei, Shatta Wale, E.L, Sarkodie, Dadie Opanka among others.
Dressed in skinny jeans, a hooded top with a pair of big combats, Dadie Opanka who was the opening act warmed patrons up when he sang his popular hits Taste, Tie Tie and Simple.
Bisa Kdei had the crowd already singing to his Mansa and Brother Brother before he even hit the stage with his three beautiful dancers.
He did not disappoint when he did an acapella of his Mansa song. After performing Azonto Ghost, Metanfo, Give It To Baba, Odo Carpenter and Over, it was obvious the crowd was more than ready for Brother Brother and Mansa.
Highlife artiste, Bisa Kdei whose stagecraft has not been very impressive proved that he has perfected his act. He busted moves with his dancers and he was adelightful to watch. And when he dropped Mansa and Brother Brother, the crowd could not help but dance and sing along with him.
The Baafira hit maker Stonebwoy, mounted the stage after Bisa Kdei. Dressed in an all white outfit, Stonebwoy, delivered such a great act that one would not be wrong to adjudge him the best artiste on the night.
Not only did he sing his popular songs such as Run Go, Go Higher, Baafira, Pull Up and Come Over but the way he was able to entertain and interact with the crowd for an hour was just ‘dope’.
The crowd did want him to leave the stage after dropping his latest and last song Mighty Lele. In fact, he got everyone screaming to his name when he left the stage around 12 midnight. It is not for nothing that he is the reigning Artiste of the Year.
After Stonebwouy, it was only proper that whoever came after him would keep the temperature right and rapper E.L did not fail to give a good account of himself. He knew what his audience wanted and wasted no time in giving it to them. He treated patrons to songs from his repertoire such as Hallelujah, One Ghana, Shelele, Obuu Mo, Ayayaa and Crazy Love.
He climaxed his performance by introducing Pappy Kojo and Joey B onto the stage for his All Black song. Performances from R2Bees, MzVee and Kaakie were also on point.
Although Shatta Wale was not on bill, the crowd went gaga anytime D.C Snoop dropped his songs at the jam which were steered by MCs Black Boy and O.G.
