Lord Kenya waiting on the Holy Spirit to drop another hit

It's been six years since any hit song was heard from Lord Kenya, but the Hiplife artiste now evangelist, Lord Kenya, says he has not quit music.

However, as has been his guide since becoming ‘born again’, the hitmaker is waiting for the green light or inspiration from the Holy Spirit to release another hit.

“I came out with my first gospel album when I became born but I am just waiting for the green light from the Holy Spirit who directs me to drop another album.”

“When I dropped my first gospel album there were those who thought I was doing it for money but God has proven that He has genuinely called me for his work, once the time is up and He gives me the green light, I will drop more gospel songs.”

Lord Kenya revealed this to Showbiz last Friday when he outlined activities to mark his sixth anniversary since he surrended his life to Christ.

He said he is grateful to God for how far He has brought him and he intends to continue with his calling, “the journey so far has been one of a kind, God calls everyone for a purpose, mine is purposely to win souls.”

“Whenever a soul is won, He forgives and heals them of their diseases. It’s been a journey that I am the only one who can talk about it because it’s been unique,” he said.

As is to be expected, the journey has not been without challenges and Lord Kenya shared it with us, “I have to pray against bitterness, from where I am coming from and what God is using me for, some men of God are not happy about it.”

“Also, some of the people I was close to are not being nice to me anymore so if I am not careful, I will be bitter, so that is something I always pray against,” he said.

Going forward, Lord Kenya said soul winning is the ultimate for him, “Once you get to Heaven, you will be given crowns based on the souls you have won.”

He currently leads the Face of Grace fellowship in Kumasi and says God is moving and working in mysterious ways in his ministry, “We meet every Friday in the morning and Sunday in the evening.”

According to Lord Kenya, he has lined up activities to mark his sixth anniversary from tomorrow, October 25 to October 30, “my calling was actually on the October 28 so the programme has been planned to include my special day.”

There will be a revival each night at the church premises, Face of Grace located at Ahodwo, Kumasi near Melcom from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

“On the 28th we will have the War Night and it is a fight to get what is rightly yours. We will be interceding for Ghana for election 2016,” he explained.

Children will not be left out of the celebrations as there will be a kids party on Saturday, October 29. The climax will be on October 30 where there will be a Thanksgiving Praises and Worship evening from 5.30pm to 8pm.

Ministering with Lord Kenya will be Bishop Bernard O-Ansah from Holland, Lawyer William Kusi from Dominion Chambers and Apostle Sampson Offen.

Song ministration will be led by Pastor Joe Beecham, Uncle Ato, Jack Alolome, Rev. Enoch Akwaboah, Agnes Opoku Agyeman, Agape Incoporated, Keith Collingwoode Williams and Morris Babyface.

Interestingly, the theme for the celebration is “God does not wear watch” and this is what Lord Kenya had to say in explanation, “Humans  try to limit you to the things you can do but God does not wear watch. God does not think like us.”

Lord Kenya used the opportunity to invite everyone to be part of the celebrations, “I am urging everyone to be part of the celebration especially my die-hard fans, they should all come and celebrate with me,” he said.
