Currently, although he is cash trapped and he is yet to get an investor to support his works, Kumi, who is also a taxi driver believes what he is going through is just a phase and things will look up one day.

According to the Break into Two hitmaker, life has not been easy for him since he hit the limelight some four years ago and he sometimes wonders why he is going through so much hardship.

“Hmmm, I don’t seem to get it sometimes and it sets me thinking a lot. You see, I know I am not a lazy artiste and I know I also do good music. It is just that things are just not working.

“With the kind of songs I have to my credit and what I still have to bring out, I should be all over the place by now making good money but that is not happening.

“ I sometimes cry because I feel I am wasting away even though  I know one day it shall be well with me”, he said.

The father of two added, “My life is like a good footballer who is always delivering on the field yet still no one wants to invest in him.

The frustrations can sometimes make you give up but I know this is not how it is going to be forever,” he told Showbiz in an interview on Monday.

Explaining some of the difficulties he is going through, Kumi Guitar who is known for songs, Emaa Time, Scriptures and Awareɛ said taking care of his two kids is sometimes difficult especially now that his taxi has broken down and is in the garage yet to be fixed.

According to Kumi Guitar, all he needs now is an investor who believes in his talent. He said that he would never disappoint any individual or corporate body who invest in him because he has a lot to offer.

Despite the struggles he is going through, Kumi Guitar who is planning to put out an album by the end of the year revealed that nothing will make him stop doing music.

To him, music is all he has set out to do and because he has the talent, he knows one day he would be one of the biggest artistes in Ghana.

“My philosophy has always been that nothing good comes easy and that is what keeps me going all the time. I know many great people who struggled at the early stages of their lives but are smiling today because they didn’t give up” he said.

Asked how he gets by since his taxi is at the workshop, Kumi Guitar disclosed that sound engineer Appietus, one Chris and a few other people have been supporting him financially as well as sort him out on other matters.

An old student of Adisadel College, Kumi Guitar said he is happy with how Ghanaians have accepted his latest single, Obra which is about the struggles he is going through.

He added that his album will be a good piece of work which will feature some of the nation’s music legends such as Amakye Dede, Pat Thomas, Amanzeba and Gyedu Blay Ambolley.
