How alcoholic beverage producers are selling at Kwahu Easter

Alcoholic beverage producers have turned the Kwahu Easter festivities into a battle of sales.

All of Ghana’s most advertised alcoholic beverage products, popularly known as bitters, have stormed towns on the Kwahu Ridge selling their produce to the thousands of revellers in the area.

Young ladies dressed in tight pairs of shorts, trousers and branded T-shirts have invaded almost all the towns holding bottles of alcohol for sale.

The ladies are at the centre of attraction as passers-by cast glances at them.

Sometimes leaving a little to the imagination in their dressing, they also wore funky hairdos of the kaleidoscope of colours.

Twisting and turning to music blasting from sound systems on the streets of Obomeng, Mpraeso, and Atibie they took advantage of the traffic jam and approached every vehicle and adults, flashing smiles.

On offer are brands of alcohol, including Nana Takyi bitters, Alomo, Wobeti , Adonko, Nutso atadwe drink, Kpoo keke, Onaapo Atadwe ginger and Gidi bitters.

There are also popular beers such as ABC and Club beer.

Apart from the ladies selling the drinks there are also men with painted bodies and huge billboards and banners all advertising and selling the drinks on the streets.

Another interesting strategy adopted by the alcoholic beverage producers is to attach food joints to their stands.
