Lovers of Ghanaian traditional music are expected to fill the performonce area at the Goethe-Institut at Cantonments in Accra tonight, February 26, for the launch of the God Is Good Borborbor Group’s Magbleo album.
Founded at Nungua in Accra 12 years ago by Mr Emmanuel Kwesi Deh, the group is widely known on the traditional music circuit in the nation’s capital and has featured at many social functions across the country.
The album launch scheduled for 7.00pm is meant to showcase authentic Borborbor vibes and also some new elements the group has brought to the age-old musical style from the Volta Region.
With songs mostly in Ewe and a few in English, the 36-member group relies on a variety of percussion instruments, a trumpet and vocals to whip up infectious rhythms that almost always pull people to dance.
Guest performers at the album launch will be the Dynamic Cultural Group and Ntuso Dance Company.
