Tanor

From ‘Tadi’ is Tanor

The twin city of Sekondi –Takoradi has in recent years birthed some of the finest rappers in the Ghanaian music scene. Talk of Kofi Kinaata, Joey B, Pappy Kojo and Nero X who have won many hearts with their Fanti rap style.

And it seems their success story has been an inspiration for many upcoming artistes from that side of the country and one such person who hopes to fly the flag of the oil city high with his rap style is Eric Quayson.

To prove his readiness for the task ahead, Eric aka Tanor has released a new song which he calls Tadi. Produced by Willizbeat in Takoradi, the song which was released last month extols the rich talents from Takoradi.

Like a proud native of the city, Eric praises Takoradi for its relevance to Ghanaian music. He sings about how Takoradi is the best place to find “rich talents”.

He talks about natives of Takoradi being level headed people who succeed in whatever endeavour they find themselves because of their ambitious trait.

Papa Elliot, who was featured on the song also did a good job echoing the views of Tanor. He brags about Takoradi being pacesetter in whatever they do. He entreats people not to be envious of Takoradi “citizens” when they live extravagant lifestyles because they work hard for their money.

Although he is a new artiste, Tanor’s lyrics laced with proverbs complemented his flow blending beautifully with the beat provided by the producer/sound engineer.

In a chat with Showbiz on Monday, Tanor said he is currently working on a new album titled, Kakanaboky. He said the song is a Christmas package to his numerous fans and hopes to get the needed attention outside the Western Region.

For the graduate of Kumasi Polytechnic, Tanor takes inspiration from young successful artistes who are making Ghana proud on the global music stage despite the many challenges that confront them back home.
