Edem to host birthday bash in Akatsi
Award winning rapper Edem is set to host a birthday concert for the people of Akatsi in the Volta region on Sunday, May 28.

The show which will be held at the Akatsi RC Park will be the first time the Nyedzilo hitmaker will be performing in his home region for the first time this year.
Edem whose birthday fell on Saturday, May 20, said the celebration will afford him the chance to appreciate the people who have been very supportive of his brand.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Edem, real name, Denning Edem Hotor, said he is set to give off his best on the day.
“My people know what I always give them and being my first show in the Volta, I assure them of the best to make up for the vacuum. I missed out on a couple of shows in the region this year like the VGMA nominee’s jam because I was out of town.
“So when the opportunity came for me to host a birthday concert, I decided to go back to the Volta region and celebrate with my people,” Edem said.
Edem also told Graphic Showbiz that the concert will equally be used to promote safe sex among the youth.
“I am using this concert to push campaign for Safe Sex particularly among young people. I believe that entertainment is a great tool to use to set a positive agenda and that is the goal of the birthday bash,” he stated.
The rapper who was part of a list of artistes at this year’s GRAMMYs pointed out that even though a number of artistes will perform, he intends to have bouts of “intimate moments” with revellers with long hours of his performance.
