Branding is important to me —Singing Prophet 

ALTHOUGH he is not yet a household name when it comes to music, Gospel musician, Singing Prophet has found another way to attract attention—through his fashion style.

Singing Prophet, real name Joseph Atarah often sports a kaftan with a cap, a throw over his shoulder, all teamed with a walking stick.

In fact, when you see him at events in recent times, what readily comes to mind is King Jaffe Joffer of Zamunda played by James Earl Jones in the 1988 blockbuster Coming to America.

According to Singing Prophet who has over 100 of the ensemble, he has been dressing this way for the past year and disclosed he is getting all the attention he needs.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Singing Prophet said his unique way of dressing is a brand he has created for himself and the response he is getting so far is amazing.

“Branding is very important to me. I want to be seen differently wherever I go and I can boldly say that I have been able to do that.  People love to take pictures with me and others enquire where I get my outfits from.

“I have about six different designers who put together my outfits. So far, I have more than 100 of such outfits in my closet and I wear them to events just to be unique. This is going to be my style for a long time come”, he revealed.

Singing Prophet started his music career as a trumpeter in 1997 and then joined the Armed Forces Band (Pink Five) as a drummer. He later became a singer and has since performed on different stages.

He won 5star Artiste of the Year, 5star Song of the Year and 5star Video of the Year at Emerging Ghana Music Awards (eGMA).

He also won Gospel Artiste of the Year at this year’s Emerging Music Awards (EMA).

Singing Prophet who is also founder of Grace Ministry International, just released a single, Woy3 Odo featuring Piesie Esther and says he is looking forward to work with Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Celestine Donkor and Obaapa Christy
