Beyonce prides herself on being one of the hottest stars on the planet – but it seems she is just a little too steamy for the BBC's Desert Island Discs.
Sunday, January 10's edition of the iconic Radio 4 programme censored one of the star's tracks for reasons of 'taste and decency'.
Alex Crawford, the acclaimed foreign correspondent who was yesterday's castaway, chose the American superstar's 2013 single Flawless as her eighth and final selection.
The journalist explained her choice is a tribute to her three daughters who are 'ardent feminists'.
But shortly after a snippet is played, the show's presenter, Kirsty Young, tells the audience: 'Alex Crawford is not absolutely delighted because we didn't play the bit she wanted for reasons of taste and decency on Radio 4.'
Crawford added: 'I only chose it for that.'
One of the lines in the song –and possibly the reason for the censorship – is: 'This is my s***, bow down bitches.'
A spokesman for Radio 4 denied there had been any attempt to censor the song, adding the two women were just sharing a private joke on air.
He said: 'The section that was played was specifically requested by Alex Crawford, and is a verse read by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
'The light-hearted comments made after the track were in reference to an earlier verse which includes a number of swear words.'
