The star of rapper/comedian/actor, AY Poyoo seems to be shining ever so brightly, in fact it shows no sign of dimming.

After basking in the achievement of his GOAT video hitting the one million mark, the musician has gone global, being featured by the BBC.

In a video the BBC posted on Wednesday, September 30, AY Poyoo talks about how it all started, how he got his big break and what he has in store for Ghanaians and the world at large.

The nearly four-minute video chronicles AY Poyoo's antics, his donation to an orphanage after he received the cash from his video hitting one million views and his recording sessions.

According to him, he decided to bleat like a goat on the GOAT track because he needed something that would catch attention.

"I needed something that would let me blow, I needed something catchy for people to vibe with the GOAT song I was going to drop," he said.

AY Poyoo said he did not expect his quick rise to fame but was glad at the recognition he was getting.

"I didn't expect to be at that level but right now it has automatically changed my life because I've gotten international recognition.

"When people ask me for money, I just show them the picture. I don't have money but I have Snoop Dogg's comments on IG (Instagram). I'm overjoyed, I'm hoping for corona (coronavirus) to go and then we start touring," he stated.

The 20-year old also explained why he goes topless saying it was to make him distinct from the other artistes.

He explained the meaning of the necklaces and heavy chain around his neck.

He did not miss out on the opportunity to brag a bit saying he was now the face of hip-hop in Ghana, warning artistes to sit up else he would take over everything. 

AY Poyoo also hinted that he was working on his debut album which he said was going to be big.

AY Poyoo, real name Emmanuel Yeboah gained fame when his GOAT song became a viral sensation. The song and it's video even got American hip-hop legend, Snoop Dogg, giving him props on social media.  

Apart from GOAT his other songs include Swimming Pool and Richest Rapper in Africa.

AY Poyoo who is also a stand up comedian in a recent interview said he was discouraged by many people including family when he started out.
